General information
- New users should first register. Once your account credentials have been validated, you can log in and either search or contribute language resources.
- For each language resource, you will be asked to provide a short title, a description, and the associated licensing conditions (see below).
- Once the resource has been fully prepared and processed by our data processing engines, you will receive a notification email and will be able to download the prepared resource. If further information is needed about the resource and its licensing conditions, you may be contacted by a member of the eSTÓR team.
- Until the resource has been processed and validated, and clearance has been granted, the resource can only be viewed by members of the eSTÓR team. Once clearance has been granted, the resource will be published so that it can be downloaded by all users of the site, in accordance with its sharing level.
- For demonstrations of how to use the site, see our YouTube channel.

Is there a maximum/minimum amount of data to be uploaded from my account?
There is no maximum or minimum requirement in terms of uploading data on the eSTÓR website, even one document makes a huge difference!
We recommend uploading at various times throughout the year or whenever possible.
As machine translation engines are data-driven, the more data that can be collected in open formats, the more efficient the engine will become.
Licensing Language Resources
Any grant of access to language resources via this site should include not only the right to read the relevant content but also to allow transformative uses, dissemination and distribution of such resources and their derivatives, according to the needs and policies of language resource owners and users.
To limit the complexity of licensing, we strongly advise data providers to use one of the standard licences, i.e. Creative Commons and open national licences indicated below.
Users can also provide a licence of their choice by uploading a PDF detailing the licensing conditions. These user-specific licences will be reviewed by staff from the eSTÓR team to assess whether this specific licence meets the required terms of conditions for sharing via eSTÓR.
